These exercises are to develop the fingers of left hand walking across the strings. they will be played on the fifth fret…You may well ask why we don't start on the first fret... As the player is a beginner so the distance between the fingers of the left hand is very short, so the practice will make more tension and pain if it will be played on the first fret. This distance will increases throughout the time, and then you can play these exercises starting from the first fret.

The wrist must works like a rotation and the thumb will moves with the wrist downward
and upward. To know more about the moving of left hand, takes a look to the part of
- Playing the exercises as they show in the pic starting from the first string to the next.
Start from 1st then 2nd, 3rd … 6th. Then backward ...5th, 4th…1st by using the fingers
as they are indicated by numbers on the strings that will be played.
- Practice the exercise slowly, concentrating on the proper placement [of the fingers].
When you are able to do this comfortably, try it a little faster, still being careful to place
the fingers correctly.Gradually increase your speed until you are able to perform
the exercise with good placement at a suitable tempo.
